A motorcyclist has spoken out after he revealed he has married his stepsister.

The Portuguese couple are expecting their first baby together after they met when they were 13 when their mother and father married.

Happy couple, MotoGP rider Miguel Oliveira, 26, and his stepsister and long-term partner, Andreia Pimenta, kept their relationship a secret for 11 years until 2019 when they told their loved ones, including Miguel’s father, Paulo and his wife, Andreia’s mother, Cristina.

Miguel – the first Portuguese rider to win a World Championship at the 2015 Italian motorcycle Grand Prix – shared pictures from their wedding day in July on Instagram, and captioned the post: “This weekend we made the most important curve of our lives. We sealed our love through marriage and we want to share it with you.

Just weeks later, the couple announced they are expecting their first baby together.

The photograph shared showed them cradling the baby bump while holding an ultrasound scan.

Miguel wrote: “Our lives will carry out with a special company. A job that will last the rest of our journey. Anxious to meet you my love.”

The motorcyclist has previously opened up about falling in love with his step-sister and spoke on Portugese TV about it.

The Sun reports that Miguel said: “Before love there was a great friendship. We grew up together.

“At some point we realised that it was more than a friendship, it is a very strong love. We were going to get married this year but that weekend I had a race and we had to postpone it to next year.”

Miguel’s father Paulo also revealed the news that his son had got engaged to his second wife Cristina’s daughter in September last year.

Speaking to Spanish sport newspaper Marca, he said: “I’m happy that my son is getting married to the woman of his life.”
