Karnataka’s top cop Praveen Sood reiterated that all the police verification related documents should be submitted through the Seva Sindhu portal in the state. He also announced that the offline submission will no longer be accepted at police stations across the state.
The director-general of police (DGP) tweeted, “For all types of police verifications. no need to visit police offices for applying or collecting. Whole process is online, apply online, pay the fee online and get the digitally signed certificate online.” He also said that over four lakh people in the state used the online services through the Seva Sindhu app. He further wrote, “More than 4 lakh applicants used this facility online last year. We don’t accept any paper requests anymore.”
The Karnataka police department also introduced an E –lost app to report complaints about the missing important documents. The department also promised that the responses will be shared within the span of 21 days. As many organisations and universities provide duplicate documents only after receiving a police acknowledgement, high footfalls were observed across all the police stations to file the complaint. However, the online portal was said to be a hassle-free way of filing a police report. The move was also introduced to reduce the avoidable footfalls to police stations in the state.
