A woman was burnt alive in a car after she could not break out of the vehicle following an accident on the Tikari-Kurtha road in Gaya district late night on Thursday.
Her husband could not rescue her as the door was locked and the vehicle was in flames.
The deceased, identified as Sangita Devi, was on her way to Mau village with her husband Ram Kumar. The accident took place when he lost control of the car on a bridge before the vehicle fell into a ditch and caught fire.
Kumar raised an alarm after breaking out. A fire brigade van reached the site, but could not save the woman.
Her mortal remains were sent to Gaya for post mortem examination, Tikari SHO Shriram Chaudhary said.
