Accommodation is selling out quickly across Australia, as travellers rush to book their next escape now the summer holidays have come to an end.

February is one of the busiest months for booking a holiday home so experts have recommended dates for people to book by, to avoid missing out.

Daniel Finch from Expedia Australia advised people to be open-minded with their destinations.

“We’re seeing with Stayz, particularly with the holiday homes, Australians are looking and booking really well in advance at the moment,” Finch said.

“Look at trying to create new memories in a new destination.”

If you’re planning to get away for Easter, experts are advising travellers to book in the next two weeks, especially if you plan on travelling to Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or the New South Wales North Coast.

There is still plenty of availability in Victoria’s Gippsland, South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula and NSW’s Central Coast. 

To secure accommodation for the King’s Birthday long weekend (June 12), book before May 4.

If you’re planning to get away for the winter holidays, experts advise booking by May 14.

For Christmas holidays, book by July 16 and for spring holidays book before August 25.
