Watch: Udupi woman escapes death by an inch after truck rams into her | Bengaluru

In a miraculous incident, a woman riding her scooter escaped death closely after a truck rammed into her near Manipal on Tuesday last week.

The near-death incident captured by CCTV showed the woman crossing the road in the Perampalli locality when a truck transporting milk crashed into her, sending her flying in the middle of the road.

Luckily, the woman survived with only minor injuries. She was seen approaching a blind spot as another bus blocked her vision of the other half of the road.

Some netizens indulged in a back and forth on who was at fault: the woman or the truck driver, while one netizen said crossing of this major road needs to be controlled by a traffic signal.

The accident occurred at around 8:30 in the morning on 3rd March and the CCTV video showed the truck speeding away without stopping after hitting the woman.

Manjunath Gowda from the Manipal police station confirmed that a case has not been filed against the truck driver, which could not be identified immediately after the hit-and-run accident.┬а
