Victorian Royal Commission to Crown begins today

A Victorian Royal Commission into Crown Resorts’ Casino license in Melbourne will begin today.

Among 45 submissions were released by the commission over the weekend claiming Crown failed to mitigate problem gambling.

This follows an earlier inquiry in New South Wales which found the gaming giant was not suitable to open its $2.2 billion Sydney casino.

The inquiry has until August 1 to report back to the government and provide recommendations.
