A Victorian police sergeant has been charged over the alleged assault of a man in a wheelchair.
It is understood the sergeant was responding to a noise complaint when the alleged incident unfolded outside of a Shepparton home on February 28.
The professional standards command conducted an investigation, which included a review of the CCTV and the police officer’s body-worn-camera footage.
The 48-year-old officer was stood down to perform other duties.
He will now have to front a Shepparton court on August 11 facing two counts of unlawful assault.
