Mr Hunt said he was aware of an aged care resident testing positive to coronavirus in Melbourne.
“The 99-year-old woman is being transferred to hospital and is asymptomatic but was vaccinated,” he said.
“It is a very concerning time, but having been vaccinated that is a very important measure of protection.”
Mr Hunt said a second Arcare resident was being tested a second time on the advice of medical authorities.
“The 95-year-old is also vaccinated, and is again asymptomatic on the advice that we have,” he said.
Mr Hunt added a second dose vaccination round was occurring at the residence today.
“It was due in two days, and it was brought forward on medical advice.”
