Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt says Victoria is doing “a lot of the heavy lifting” when it comes to vaccinations amongst the states and territories.
“The advice I have is that Victoria has received about 787,000 doses, they have used about 476,000,” Mr Hunt told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“This week we’ll be providing another 172,000, so there’s very significant inventories, they’re all there for them to be providing vaccines to those that need them.”
The Health Minister said Victoria is doing a “very steady job” of vaccinating the public.
“There are significant and ample inventories in Victoria if they wish to expand their state-based program,” he said.
“And in addition, the general practices are also providing very very high levels of vaccination in Victoria.”
