Vampire Academy and One of Us Is Lying Not Coming Back With New Seasons

Shocking enough… isn’t it? Well, two YA drama series at Peacock are coming to an end! One Of Us Is Lying and Vampire Academy’ has been cancelled by the NBCU streamer. According to Deadline, a US-based news outlet, while Julie Plec’s Vampire Academy had a one-season run, One Of Us Is Lying had a two-season run. Deadline explains that Peacock executives approved both shows creatively, but they could not attract the necessary viewership to support more seasons. The first Peacock pilot to get to the series was One Of Us Is Lying, which debuted in October 2021 and is based on the novel by Karen M McManus. In May 2021, a straight-to-series order for Vampire Academy was given, and it debuted in September 2022. They are both produced by Universal Studio Group. As per a report by Deadline, the cast also features Andrew Liner, Daniela Nieves, Kieron Moore, J. August Richards, Anita-Joy Uwajeh, Mia Mckenna-Bruce, Rhian Blundell, and Sisi Stringer.Along with Emily Cummins, Don Murphy, Susan Montford, Deepak Nayar, and Jillian DeFrehn, Plec and MacIntyre serve as executive producers of the Peacock series. Bille Woodruff directed the pilot. The streamer is entering its next stage of development, so the cancellations are not a great surprise. The streamer has also recently ordered Mrs. Davis from Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez, a modern horror thriller based on Robert McCammon’s Stinger, from writers Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone), James Wan (The Conjuring Universe), Atomic Monster, and UCP.
