Two nabbed by Pimpri-Chinchwad police after woman posts videos showing them harassing her family on road

Taking cognisance of a complaint raised by a woman on Twitter, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police identified and nabbed two men who were seen in a video obstructing the road and harassing the woman’s family on the Aundh-Ravet Road recently.

On March 12, the complainant Komal Shinde shared two videos showing two bike-borne men driving in front of the woman’s car on the Aundh-Ravet stretch, obstructing the road and actively preventing the car from overtaking them. The clips showed the men deliberately harassing the car’s occupants by driving slowly and repeatedly moving to the middle of the road in a bid to prevent the car from moving ahead. Shinde was accompanied by her husband and a baby at the time.

Soon after the videos were posted online, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police identified the two men and nabbed them. Posting a reply on Twitter, the police said, “Action taken. Citizens are strongly encouraged to not hold back and report any such harassment on the helpline 112. Also mark our Twitter handle @PCCityPolice like @KAsh5628 rightly did. We will not spare anyone indulging in such brazen acts.” They also shared pictures of the men. The swift action by the police also drew praise from citizens.

Shinde too posted a message of appreciation on Twitter. “Received an update from @PCCityPolice these goons have been caught. Thank you for taking the action. Hope they have learned a lesson. Let’s make the city a safe place for everyone. Installing dash cameras is going to be an added advantage,” she wrote.
