Police have charged two men with murder over the death of an elderly Sydney man in an alleged home invasion nearly three years ago.
Kalim Saliba, 86, suffered serious head injuries while defending his wife after intruders broke into their home on Tallowwood Avenue in Cherrybrook on April 29, 2020.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he later died.
Detectives arrested a 33-year-old man at a unit in Castle Hill about 9am today.
A 58-year-old man was arrested at Silverwater jail this morning.
Both men were charged with murder, specially aggravated break and enter, and committing a serious indictable offence.
They were both refused bail to appear in court today.
A $1 million reward was announced in December 2021 for information which led to the arrest of those responsible for Saliba’s death.
