Singh will front the Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
The Australian citizen was surrounded by police as he boarded a private flight from Essendon Fields airport after spending the night in custody.
Singh has denied any involvement in Cordingley’s death, and has said during extradition hearings he wished to return to Australia to fight the charges against him.
Cordingley’s father found her body in the dunes of Wangetti beach, north of Cairns, in October 2018, a day after she vanished while walking her dog.
Singh travelled to India shortly after her death and police issued a warrant for his arrest later in 2018.
However, he was not found in India until November last year, after police put up a $1 million reward for information.
Detective Inspector Smith said Cordingley’s death has had an impact on “everybody”.
“I acknowledge that her family and friends are still dealing with the loss. Most importantly, I’d like to acknowledge Toyah Cordingley’s mum and dad who put their faith and trust in police to deliver justice for their daughter,” she said.
