The QLD property with a pool 450m above sea-level

Now that’s a pool with a view

A property with arguably the highest pool – and best view – in Queensland has hit the market, and it is already getting plenty of attention.

Located at Bald Knob, a rural suburb on the Sunshine Coast, the 22.58ha property sits 450m above sea level – or roughly 136 storeys high – and has views of the entire region, out to Moreton Island, the Glasshouse Mountains and the beaches.

On a level plateau, the three-bedroom house is just five years old, but that view from the pool is priceless.

It was listed three days ago by Roger Loughnan Real Estate, and was the second most eyeballed residential listing in Queensland this week.

Taking out the top spot was a four-bedroom house on a 238sq m block at Varsity Lakes that has been listed for sale by expressions of interest over $775,000, a bargain give the Gold Coast’s eye-watering sales prices in recent times.

But back in Bald Knob, where offers are invited to purchase the sprawling acreage property, there is plenty of room to roam and views as far as the eye can see.

The house has a gym/office/library, three separate living areas, and a gourmet kitchen, plus high ceilings and plenty of glass to invite in those panoramic vistas.

The house is just 5 years old

Other features include 5kW solar power, three phase power, an NBN connection,

approximately 100,000L of rainwater storage and a bio cycle wastewater treatment plant.

There is also a 3-bay shed and a workshop, with the mostly cleared grazing country currently hosting about 15 head of cattle on agistment.

Inside, outside, the views are everywhere

But back to that pool.

It is a 20m lap pool located on the eastern side of the house, facing those breathtaking views.

Located 30 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to Maleny and 5 minutes to Landsborough Railway Station, there is also a long-term lease over part of the property for Channel 7 transmission purposes.

Wake up to that? Yes please!

Agent and principal Roger Loughnan said it was a “remarkable piece of land”.

“We are marketing it in conjunction with McGrath but have already had an extraordinary amount of inquiry,” Mr Loughnan said.

“Incredibly, the majority of that inquiry has come from local buyers, people in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast.

“We have found that over the past few months, enormous regional inquiry which I’d say speaks to the strength of the local market.”

Mr Loughnan said they had already had a few offers but those had so far been rejected, with the vendor seeking a sale over $4 million.

“But we have a few inspections this weekend and I would expect we will get a sale,” he said.

“It truly is a remarkable piece of real estate.”
