Narayana Murthy Forgot To Wish Wife Sudha Murty on Their 25th Anniversary

During Saturday’s (November 10) or Funnyvaar’s (as TGIKS makers like to call it) episode, Sudha Murthy, who is known for her witty and cheerful nature, revealed that her husband Narayana Murty forgot to wish her their 25th anniversary. However, more than her, it was their daughter Akshata Murty who was more upset about it.

Recalling the incident, Narayana Murthy said that he failed to wish his wife on one of the most important days of their lives after she gave multiple hints about it. He said, “One day, I woke up, and Sudha asked me, ‘Is anything special today?’ I said, ‘No, nothing’. So, I headed to the office, and as I was getting inside the car, she again asked me, ‘Think of anything special today?’ Again, I replied no. Sudha Murty definitely might have felt bad about it, but it was their daughter, Akshata, who seemed more troubled about the issue.

While Narayana Murthy was on his way to work, he received a call from his daughter, Akshata Murty, who was pursuing a Diploma course in Clothes Manufacturing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising at Stanford University. Recalling her chat with Akshata, Narayana Murthy said, “She asked me, ‘What are you doing?’ I told her I was heading to catch a flight. She replied, ‘Cancel the flight right away and take the first flight back to Bengaluru tomorrow morning and wish your wife a happy anniversary” When Narayana Murthy told her that he had an important meeting to attend, Akshat Murty replied, “I don’t care if you have a speech at 3 PM.
