Mumbai, January 10: The Tata Punch facelift in its CNG avatar has started arriving at dealerships across India, signalling an imminent launch scheduled for next week. According to dealership sightings, Tata Motors is set to officially launch the updated Punch on January 13, 2026. The facelift aims to strengthen Tata’s position in the micro-SUV segment by combining the efficiency of compressed natural gas with refreshed styling updates.

Since its debut, the Tata Punch has been a volume driver for the company, and the facelift is expected to cater to evolving consumer preferences. Dealership sources suggest that unofficial bookings for the CNG variants have begun in several cities, while official prices will be announced at launch. The model continues to use Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG technology, which allows for usable boot space despite the presence of gas cylinders. Mahindra XUV 7XO Bookings Open in India From January 14, 2026.

Tata Punch Facelift CNG Features and Interior

The 2026 Tata Punch facelift introduces notable updates to the cabin. Higher variants are expected to feature a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to newer Tata models, along with updated interior trims. The CNG variant retains the twin-cylinder layout placed under the boot floor, offering practical luggage space compared to conventional CNG setups.

On the safety front, the facelifted Punch continues to offer dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across variants. Mechanically, the Punch CNG carries forward the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine tuned for CNG, producing around 73 PS and 103 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission.

Tata Punch Facelift New Colour Palette and Aesthetic Updates

In addition to the mechanical and interior updates, the Tata Punch facelift introduces a refreshed exterior colour palette. The micro-SUV will be offered in six exterior colour options, including Cyantafic Blue, Caramel, Bengal Rouge, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds, and Pristine White. Some of these shades, such as Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, and Pristine White, have also been seen on the Tata Sierra, giving the Punch a fresher and more premium appearance.

Exterior updates include revised LED daytime running lights, a redesigned front grille, and subtle bumper changes. While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, these updates align the Punch more closely with Tata’s latest design language seen on newer models.

Tata Punch Facelift Price and Market Competition

The Tata Punch facelift price in India is expected to start at around INR 6.0 lakh ex-showroom for the base petrol variant, with CNG variants likely beginning from approximately INR 7.2 lakh to INR 7.5 lakh ex-showroom. Once launched, it will continue to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Exter and the Citroën C3. Volkswagen Tayron SUV Teased, Launching Soon in India.

Tata Motors has been aggressively expanding its green mobility portfolio, and the refreshed Punch CNG is a critical part of that strategy. With the vehicles already reaching dealerships, deliveries are expected to commence shortly after the official price announcement. The updated Punch will be available across multiple variants, catering to buyers looking for a compact, fuel-efficient, and feature-rich micro-SUV.
