SYMHEALTH 2023 – Symbiosis national health conference on April 28-29

The 25th edition of SYMHEALTH 2023- the annual conference conducted by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Symbiosis International University, will be held on April 28 and 29 at SIU campus, Lavale, Pune.

Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Country Director, Access Health International, and President, NATHEALTH, will inaugurate the conference on April 28 and the theme is Stakeholder Engagement for Integrated Healthcare – Futuristic Approach. Union health minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Dr. Dilip Mhaisekar, Director, Department of Medical Education and Research Government of Maharashtra will be the chief guests at the valedictory function on April 29.

Dr. Rajiv Yervadekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) told media persons on Tuesday that experts like Dr Suresh Bada Math Director of Digital Psychiatry, NIMHANS, Dr. Shweta Khandelwal Additional Professor and Head Nutrition Research, PHFI, Tapan Singhel, Managing Director and CEO, Bajaj Allianz and several other speakers will bring their perspectives in the growth and future of the healthcare industry with relevance to hospitals, mental health, insurance and research.

Forging, scaling and assessment of outcomes in healthcare collaborations and how this can help address public health challenges while also addressing wider public service partnerships, and community coalitions of diverse stakeholders, will be discussed by Dr Lalit Mistry, Partner and Co-Head, Healthcare Sector, KPMG. Strategies to complement and bridge the Healthcare Workforce Gaps and familiarising ourselves with talent management strategies and initiatives is a key discussion with Dr Sanjeev Singh, Medical Superintendent at Amrita School of Medicine while Dr Mudit Dandavate, COO and Founder, Dozee will talk about Opportunities and innovations in healthcare through start ups and Government aid and schemes for start-ups. Understanding the Quality Assurance Framework in Hospitals and key strategies for attaining Organizational Excellence will be addressed by Dr Lallu Joseph, Quality Manager and Associate General Superintendent, Christian Medical College.

Covering a key topic like Biomedical Engineering Research, Innovation and Opportunities and the engagement of participants in newer and futuristic medical technologies will be Dr Darshan Shah, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Mumbai. The need for wider use of technologies leading to better patient outcomes and safety. Dr Vivek Singh, Health Specialist at UNICEF will talk about Health Sector Reforms and SDGs where Health sector reform (HSR) deals with equity, efficiency, quality, financing, and sustainability in the provision of health care while Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consist of goals and targets in order to eradicate poverty and realise a sustainable world.

Dr. Sanjay Gupte, Founder, Gupte Hospitals Pune and Medico legal expert will give his expert opinion and understanding of Legislative reforms in healthcare.
