Surat, October 4: In a shocking case of incest from Gujarat’s Surat, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by her 16-year-old brother after he watched intimate scenes in TV serials. The shocking incident came to light after the mother of the girl took her to a nearby hospital after the girl complained of stomach pain. Doctor at the hospital confirmed a three-month pregnancy. It was only then that the minor disclosed to her parents that she was raped by her own teenage brother.

According to a report in TOI, the girl while narrating her ordeal to her parents said that  her elder brother asked her to have sex with him. On September 30, the girl’s mother filed a complaint against her 16-year-old son at the police station. According to authorities, the parents, who work as labourers, left for work each morning, leaving their two children alone at home. The 13-year-old girl, a class 8 student, began experiencing stomach pain at school and was taken to a hospital by her mother. There, doctors confirmed that she was three months pregnant. This shocking incident comes after a 13-year-old boy watched porn videos on his mobile phone, then raped and murdered his 9-year-old sister in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district. The family is accused of covering up the crime and misleading both neighbours and the police.

The police detained the victim’s brother, their mother and sisters after interrogation of 50 people, intense questioning of the accused persons and based on technical evidence.
