Supriya Sule to hold protest if PMC does not implement civic works in areas under Baramati LS constituency

Taking up various civic issues of the area in the city which is a part of the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, NCP MP Supriya Sule Friday warned the Pune Municipal Corporation of a protest over the delay in resolving the issues that are causing problems for the citizens.

“It is unfortunate that the implementation of various civic works planned in the area which is a part of the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency is delayed. If the delay continues, I will stage a protest against the civic administration,” Sule said after meeting municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar.

“Earlier, there used to be a weekly review meeting conducted by then guardian minister Ajit Pawar to discuss issues related to the city and the district,” she said. Sule added that the practice of holding weekly review meetings got discontinued since the change in power in the state government.

“There are no elected representatives in the civic body for a year now since the end of term of the previous elected body and there are no signs of the civic election anytime soon,” Sule said.

The NCP leader said that the municipal commissioner has assured to complete by April 15 the work on streetlights in Undri, Pisoli, Ambegaon, Sus and Bavdhan areas.
