Supreme Court to hear pleas for Hindenburg probe today | India News

NEW DELHI: The controversy surrounding the Hindenburg Research report on the Adani Group of companies has reached the Supreme Court, which will on Friday hear two petitions тАФ one seeking a court-monitored probe into the allegations made by the US firm against the conglomerate, and another seeking prosecution of short seller Nathan Anderson and his associates in India for allegedly exploiting Indian investors.
A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala is likely to hear the petitions filed by two advocates, pleading the court to take cognisance of the issue and direct probe. One of the petitioners, advocate Vishal Tiwari, mentioned the matter for urgent listing before a bench headed by the CJI, which agreed to hear the plea along with another one filed by lawyer M L Sharma.
