The prosthetic-tailed dolphin that starred in the тАЬDolphin TaleтАЭ movies, Winter, has passed away at age 16 after battling a serious infection.

The publication added that тАЬClearwater Marine Aquarium said a team of 15 vets and technicians were going to attempt to treat the gastrointestinal blockage, but they noticed vital signs declining.тАЭ

TMZ stated they were told тАЬa necropsy will be done to determine cause of death, but at this point they believe it was heart failure.тАЭ

The sad news comes after Clearwater Marine Aquarium confirmed in a news release on Sunday that staff members noticed on Nov. 1 that Winter was not eating and was acting abnormally. Initial bloodwork showed the possible infection.
