South Korean actor Park Min Jae, who had shared the screen with some of the biggest names of the K-drama industry, including Song Joong Ki in Little Women, passed away on November 29 in China. The news was confirmed by his agency on December 2, sending shockwaves in the Korean showbiz.
Park Min Jae died after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 32.
On Monday, his agency, Big Title, confirmed the devastating news with the statement: “Park Min Jae, a talented actor who loved acting and always gave his best, has departed for heaven.”
“We are deeply grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown Park Min Jae. Although we can no longer see him perform, we will proudly remember him as an actor of Big Title. May he rest in peace,” the statement further read.
Park Min Jae’s younger brother also shared a heartbreaking note on Instagram which read, “My beloved brother has gone to rest. I hope as many people as possible will remember my brother. Please understand that I cannot contact everyone individually (sic).”
A wake dedicated to the late actor will be held in Room 9 of Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Hall, and as per reports, his funeral will be held on December 4. The grieving family is yet to confirm the burial site.
Park Min Jae was reportedly in China on a professional one-month-long trip. Hwang Ju Hye, the CEO of the actor’s agency, shared, “It was so sudden and so shocking… The family must be feeling unimaginable sorrow… Min Jae, there’s still so much we wanted to say and do together. I was grateful to have been your representative, even if only for a short time, and I’m deeply sorry. I will never forget the name, Actor Park Min Jae.”
Park Min Jae starred in a number of popular K-dramas including Song Joong Ki’s Little Women, Call It Love, Tomorrow, The Korea-Khitan War, and Mr Lee, My Damn Business, among others.
