Smoke Billows From Legacy Fire Burning in Utah’s Davis County

The Legacy Fire burning in Davis County, Utah, sent smoke billowing into the sky on Friday, September 10, as it burned through about 300 acres west of Kaysville, Layton, and Farmington after being sparked by lightning officials said. Video from Leslie Solorio shows a thick plume of smoke darkening the sky in Farmington. “Getting worried now,” Solorio tweeted. Local media reported heavy smoke above a high school football game on Friday afternoon. However, the fire’s growth was slowed later in the evening when a thunderstorm rolled through and “produced a substantial amount of rain,” the Utah Department of Natural Resources said. No growth was expected on Saturday, an update read. Credit: Leslie Solorio via Storyful
