Single ticket wins $80 million Powerball jackpot

Someone from Victoria has won the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot in tonight’s draw, but may not even know it.

It’s the third-biggest win in Australian history and the biggest for a Victorian, according to lottery officials The Lott

The winning numbers of draw 1317 on Thursday, August 12 were 17, 10, 4, 26, 19, 23, 21, and the Powerball was 7.

Officials said only one ticket had the correct combination to claim the top prize but hadn’t yet been able to contact them.

The Lott spokeswoman Lauren Cooney called on all ticketholders in Victoria to check their entries.

“Imagine going to bed tonight not knowing you’ve just won $80 million? That’s the reality for one Victorian player after scoring division one in tonight’s Powerball draw,” she said.

“While the Victoria entry was purchased online, unfortunately, we don’t have their complete contact details, so we are unable to make a mind-blowing phone call to them this evening.”

Divisions two to nine paid out more than $51.5 million across almost two million prizes, The Lott said.

There were 13 second division winners, who each will claim $109,858.60 from the total division pool of $1,428,161.80.

The prize money takes a significant drop for third division winners: 219 entries each claim $3985.25 as their share of the $872,769.75 pool.
