Shocker! 53-Year-Old Scooter Rider Loses Voice After Manjha Of Flying Kite Gets Stuck Around His Neck, Slits His Throat; Met With Similar Accident On Same Bridge 2 Years Ago

Bhopal/Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A 53-year-old man lost hos voice temporarily after a Chinese abrasive string (manjha) slit his throat in Ujjain. The incident occurred when he was riding his scooter and the manjha of a flying kite got stuck around his neck on the Patidar bridge on Thursday morning.

Co-incidentally, the victim met with a similar accident on the same bridge two years ago.

The string left a deep cut in the victim’s throat.

Onlookers saw him bleeding and called up 108 ambulances immediately. The injured was sent to the local hospital for treatment. The victim got a total of eight stitches in order to seal the cut. He is now out of danger, but is unable to speak.

According to information, the victim, identified as 53-year-old Prahlad Mode, has been subjected to a similar incident before. A couple of years ago, Mode was travelling on the same bridge when another abrasive string left a similar cut on his throat. Since then, he made sure to wear a muffler while travelling.

To his misfortune, he did not wear the muffler on Thursday when the incident took place. Mode recounted that when the rope cut his throat, he instinctively tried to grab it with his hand, resulting in cuts to his fingers. While his condition is currently stable, he remains unable to speak due to the severity of his injuries.

Victim’s son urges authorities to install safety measures

Despite the ban on such activities, Prahlad’s son Kundan has urged the Municipal Corporation and local authorities to install protective wires on both sides of high-risk areas, like Patidar Bridge, to prevent similar accidents in the future. Additionally, he recommended placing large flex banners to raise awareness about the importance of driving slowly and protecting one’s throat.
