Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has once again made it to the headlines after being charged with racketeering conspiracy, alleging that he ran and engaged in sex trafficking and kidnapping, among other crimes. The 54-year-old rapper was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan on Monday and spent the night in federal custody. According to the indictment details obtained by TMZ, “For decades, Sean Combs abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfil his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct. To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources and the influence of his multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled.” It was also revealed that from 2008, members of Combs enterprise engaged in a chain of illegal activities, including sex-trafficking, prostitution, forced labour, narcotics offences, kidnapping and bribery, among others.

The purpose behind Combs’s enterprise was to fulfil the rapper’s “personal desires”, including sexual gratification, which included “exploitation of women and use of commercial sex workers.” The indictment mentions that women were lured into Combs’ “orbit” under the pretext of a romantic relationship but later forced to engage in sexual acts with male commercial sex workers. After the activities, the victims were made to take IV fluids to recover from the acts and drug abuse. The indictment revealed that the Freak Off events sometimes lasted multiple days  and included a “variety of controlled substances” that were distributed “in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant.” The drug charges included distribution of cocaine, oxycodone, Xanax, GHB – the “date rape” drug – MDMA and ketamine.

It was also revealed that in raids to Combs’ Beverly Hills and Miami houses, several Freak Off supplies, including narcotics and more than 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant. They also seized firearms with defaced serial numbers. Other charges against the rapper include violence against women. He’s alleged to have kicked, punched and thrown objects in order to cause harm to the victims. That’s not all; after all the crimes he allegedly committed, Diddy and his associates would pressurise victims and witnesses to remain tight-lipped about the event through bribery. The rapper’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said that he would “fight like hell” to get his client out on bail. However, it is clear that if the allegations are confirmed to be true, the rapper will spend time behind bars for the rest of his life.
