Sayed Mushtaq Bukhari, the BJP candidate from the Surankote Assembly Constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, passed away at age 75 after suffering a heart attack. Bukhari had been unwell for some time and collapsed at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. Bukhari’s passing comes shortly after voting in Surankote was held during the second phase on September 25. Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina expressed deep condolences, remembering Bukhari’s contributions to the party and the region.
