Saudi Arabia club make offer of a lifetime to Cristiano Ronaldo | Football News

A week after Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways with boyhood club Manchester United, the talismanic footballer has been offered a lucrative deal by a Saudi Arabia club. As per a report by CBS Sports, the Portugal captain has been made a $225 million, a three year deal to play for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr post the FIFA World Cup 2022.

That deal will see Ronaldo bag a whopping $75 million deal in his late 30s.

Ronaldo, who has featured in five World Cups, has been under Al Nassr’s radar for quite some time now and with the Portuguese now being without a club, the interest on him is “stronger than ever.”

The report also mentioned that the two parties have had discussions over this early, and if both agrees a contract finalization would not take long.

Al Nassr is one of the strongest footballing unit in Asia, having won nine league titles.

Ronaldo and Manchester United parted ways on a rather cold note, a development which took place after an explosive interview by the player with British journalist Piers Morgan. He is currently engaged in national duties at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo had blasted at the club and current manager Erik ten Hag in the interview, where he accused a few officials of forcing him out of the club. He had also stated that he has no respect for the manager, and revealed how he was close to joining local rivals Manchester City in the summer of 2021.

Ronaldo also notched a new World Cup record last week during Portugal’s opener against Ghana, which the European side won 3-2. He became the first player ever to score goals at five separate World Cups, after converting a penalty against Ghana at Stadium 974 in Qatar. They will now meet Uruguay, which is scheduled to be played at midnight (12:30 am IST, Tuesday) at the Lusail Stadium.
