NCP leader (Ajit Pawar faction) and former minister Nawab Malik have previously made serious allegations against Sameer Wankhede. Malik alleged that Wankhede had committed fraud in his certificate to secure his IRS job. He claimed that Wankhede had converted to Islam, which is why he could not receive reservations. Maharashtra state assembly election will be conducted in a single phase to elect 288 members of the Vidhan Sabha. Polling is scheduled for November 20, with November 23 designated for counting votes and announcing the results.
