Same Sex Marriage in India: Marriage only for opposite sexes, says RSS | India News

NEW DELHI: RSS on Tuesday supported the Centre’s stance on same-sex marriage and said that marriage can only take place between persons of opposite genders.
National general secretary of RSS Dattatreya Hosabale, on asked about Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in London and his criticism of the RSS, said that as a political party leader, he should speak moreresponsibly, and see reality. He was talking to reporters on the final day of the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha at Samalkha in Haryana.
On same-sex marriage, Hosabale said, “The government has given its reply in the court on this issue and the Sangh also believes in the same. Marriage is a custom, which can happen only between a man and a woman. Its main aim is the larger interest of the society and not physicalpleasure. ” Hosabale questioned the Rahul’s right to speak on democracy and said that during the Emergency in 1975, Congress had sent thousands of people like him to jail and the whole country was converted into a jail.
In response to a question on RSS leaders’ meetings with prominent Muslim personalities, he said there was no outreach by the RSS, but if anyone wanted to engage with the organisation, it wasready.
