Who Sent Legal Notice and What Did Salman Khan’s Representative Say?

The notice, sent on behalf of Parimal Kanti Mondal, President of the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation (BBMF) and represented by legal advisor Nripendra Krishna Roy, alleges that the show has belittled the legacy of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and risks offending cultural and religious sentiments. In response, Parinam Law Associates stated, “Salman Khan and SKTV have no involvement whatsoever with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Recent reports suggesting that Salman Khan or SKTV have received this legal notice are incorrect, as we have no association with the show.”

Salman Khan Television (SKTV) co-produced The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony Entertainment Television along with Banijay Asia, but not The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, which is produced by the comedian himself.

‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ Irks Bengali Poet Srijato Bandyopadhyay

The segment from The Great Indian Kapil Show angered Bengali poet Srijato Bandyopadhyay, who voiced his displeasure on Facebook. Srijato wrote, “There’s a subtle boundary between humour and mockery, and crossing it can be risky. Often, people disregard whom they are joking about, what they are saying, and how far they go—all in a quest to chase high ratings and make people laugh. They forget where to draw the line.”
