Road rage: Youngster ‘abuses’ woman following quarrel over brushing of vehicles in Pune

In an incident of road rage, a youngster allegedly abused a woman, broke the glass of her car, and left her husband injured, following a quarrel over brushing of their vehicles near Spicer College in Pune’s Aundh Road Friday. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

The woman, 40, lodged the FIR in this case at the Chaturshringi police station Saturday. The accused has been identified as Sujit Kate.

As per the FIR, the complainant and her husband were going in a car. On Aundh Road, the complainant asked the accused to drive properly as his four-wheeler allegedly brushed their car. But the accused came out of his four-wheeler and allegedly passed obscene remarks at the complainant. He also allegedly broke the front glass of the complainant’s car.

It has been stated that just when the complainant’s husband was stepping out of the car, the accused allegedly pushed the car door with force, leaving the man injured.

The police have booked the accused under Sections 354 (a) (4), 324, 504, 506, and 327 of the Indian Penal Code.

Assistant police inspector Babasaheb Zarekar, the investigating officer, said they have identified the accused but no arrest has been made yet and further investigation is on.
