Mumbai, October 9: Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, is reportedly in critical condition. According to a Reuters report, Ratan Tata is critical and undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Mumbai. The report allegedly cited two sources who are said to have direct knowledge of Ratan Tata’s health. The report also claimed that a representative of Tata did not respond when requested for an update on his health condition.
The development comes two days after Ratan Tata took to social media to clarify rumours about his health. In his post, Ratan Tata said that there was no cause for concern regarding his health and that he is undergoing check-ups for age-related medical conditions. “I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age related medical conditions,” Tata said when rumours claimed he was hospitalised. In his post, Ratan Tata, who led the Tata Group from March 1991 to December 2012 as Chairman of Tata Sons, also urged people and the media to refrain from spreading misinformation about his health. “I remain in good spirits,” he stated. It must be noted that Tata’s clarification came after several news reports claimed that Tata was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after his blood pressure dropped.
