Agarwal, fondly known as “AgniWall,” played a pivotal role in shaping India’s missile capabilities, leading the ambitious Agni missile program from its inception in 1983. He was instrumental in the successful launch of the first Agni missile on May 22, 1989, marking a significant milestone in India’s defense history. Under his leadership, various versions of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) were developed, solidifying India’s strategic defense capabilities. Agarwal is survived by his wife and two children.
