Rajasthan: Neighbours shoot dead 3 of a family in Bharatpur over old dispute

At least three people of a family were killed and as many injured in a firing incident that occurred in Bharatpur district, Rajasthan, late on Saturday night, said police.

According to the police, the incident took place in Sikraura village in Kumher town of the district, where a group of people over old enmity allegedly entered the house of a neighbour and opened fire, killing three on spot and injuring three others.

Additional superintendent of police (SP) Anil Meena said the incident occurred at around 2 am when two groups had a brawl.

A fight broke out between two groups in which three people died during firing while three others were injured. The deceased were identified as Samundar (48), Ishwar (50) and Gajendra (45), informed the SP.

Police said the accused Lakhan Singh (31) along with five others allegedly entered his neighbour Tenpal’s (29) house and opened fire killing three, including his father and two uncles.

The three others injured are Tenpal, Maya (48) and Raveena (28), all were taken to a nearby hospital but were referred to be admitted to SMS hospital in Jaipur from there by the doctors, said police.

“All the accused are absconding and effort to nab them is ongoing. A case has been lodged under appropriate sections of IPC,” said the SP.
