Pune Metro kicked off 2025 with a bang as nearly 2.5 lakh commuters travelled on January 1. According to data shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Pune Metro, a total of 2,04,957 commuters travelled by metro on the first day of the year. While 1,02,738 commuters travelled on the Purple Line (Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate), the Aqua Line (Ramwadi to Vanaz) saw 1,02,175 commuters, as per the data.
Meanwhile, Pune Metro proved to be a boon for Punekars in 2024. According to official figures, the metro recorded a ridership of 4.57 crore in the last year, with October recording the highest ridership of 48.19 lakh passengers, followed by 46.21 in September. The revenue of Pune Metro in 2024 was ₹76.58 crore, with the highest being in October at ₹7.52 crore, followed by ₹7.07 crore in September.
