Pune-based biotech firm Mylab Discovery Solutions announced an exclusive strategic partnership with AstraGene LLC, UAE’s first molecular diagnostics manufacturing company, for developing automated molecular diagnostics for the UAE and Kuwait markets.
Under the agreement, Mylab and AstraGene will co-develop molecular diagnostic solutions, including reagents, kits and fully-automated devices. This partnership marks Mylab’s latest international market expansion and supports the company’s strategy to make high-quality diagnostics more accessible worldwide, a statement issued on Wednesday said.
This partnership will be essential in upgrading laboratory infrastructure in the UAE and Kuwait and support installing advanced diagnostic systems in the laboratories.
Mylab MD Hasmukh Rawal said, “This partnership is a step towards expanding our presence in the fast-growing molecular diagnostics markets. Our comprehensive product portfolio of molecular diagnostic kits, along with AstraGene’s local expertise in this space, will enable laboratories in the UAE and Kuwait to drive better outcomes and provide an enhanced diagnosis to
patients.”
Dr P K Menon, CEO and founder of AstraGene, said they planned to launch a wide range of products in this category in the coming months.
