Wednesday marked the completion of 25 years of Pokhran Nuclear Test-II. Between May 9 and 23, the Ministry of Defence is celebrating the landmark event as an important milestone of India’s nuclear power aspiration.
The MoD, through Director General Quality Assurance, has entrusted Pune-based NBC Equipment Wing (NBCEW) with the responsibility of coordinating the events of the celebration across the DGQA organisations all over India.
Apart from NBCEW, a number of private vendors, government departments and laboratories showcased their systems and equipment in the exhibition.
A large number of citizens and representatives from various defence training institutions attended the event, officials said.
With a focus on the future scenario of the CBRN aggressions and emergencies, the exposition aimed to create public awareness on disposal of radiological dispersal devices and also drone-launched disaster reduction and nuclear-contaminated water purification.
