NEW DELHI: Rail passengers can now book meals through IRCTC’s WhatsApp number. The service, for now, is available to travellers on select trains.
The railway ministry said passengers can send messages to the number — 8750001323 — for getting food delivered to their berths.
The implementation of ecatering services through WhatsApp was envisaged in two phases. The first phase has already been implemented. Under this, a business WhatsApp number sends a message to the customers booking an e-ticket for opting e-catering services on www. ecatering. irctc. co. in.
In the next phase, an interactive WhatsApp meal booking and delivery system has been planned.
