Parents try to ‘tame’ rebellious daughter by dumping her on deserted island – World News

A “rebellious” teenager was dumped on a desert island by her parents in the hope that she’d grow up.

The 13-year-old was rescued from the empty bit of land in Shandong, China after flagging down some fisherman.

She had been taken to the rocky outcrop by her mum and dad, who were tired of her poor behaviour.

They are said to have wanted to teach the girl a lesson about hardship and adversity, due to her having dropped out of school and staying in her room all day.

Desperate times called for desperate measures, and the parents resorted to just that.

The island is located one kilometre off the coast of Rushan City and has been deserted for many years.

It has no running water or electricity.

Accompanied by a survival expert, the girl spent two days on the island before contacting the fisherman, who reported the issue to the police.

When officers arrived she told them she “can’t stand” living there on only water and compressed biscuits, reports China Press.

The police then ordered the parents to take their distressed daughter home.

They reluctantly agreed to do so, after noting that she seemed to have matured during the two day stay.
