Paramedic winched down to treat Gold Coast woman after embankment fall

Rescue crews are attempting to winch a woman to safety after she fell up to 70 metres down a cliff following a car accident north west of the Gold Coast this morning.

The woman is understood to have been driving on Tamborine Oxenford Road at Wongawallan around 7:30am before the car rolled.

Communication was established with the woman just before 10am after emergency services spent hours trying to locate her.

The Rescue 500 helicopter with a critical care paramedic are currently on scene, with the paramedic being winched down 70m to assess the woman.

The Rescue 500 helicopter with a critical care paramedic are currently on scene, with the paramedic being winched down 70 metres to assess the woman.

The woman has reportedly sustained an arm injury but appears to be in a stable condition.

It’s expected the woman will be transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
