Over 2,500 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Cars Recalled in India Due to Steering Gearbox Assembly Defect

Mumbai, August 11: Country’s leading automaker by sales, Maruti Suzuki, has issued a voluntary recall for 2,555 units of the Alto K10 small hatchback in India. In the official circular, the Indo-Japanese carmaker said the recall had been initiated to address a suspected defect related to the steering gearbox assembly, affecting Alto K10’s steering capabilities in some rare instances. However, the brand has remained coy regarding the production timeline (when the cars were manufactured in India).

The automaker has advised the customers to avoid driving the car until the issue is resolved. Affected customers will be contacted by the authorised dealer workshops to address the problem. The rectification job will be carried out free of charge. It is worth noting that the Alto is Maruti Suzuki’s one of the most successful products in the country with more than 50 lakh cars sold in the domestic market since its inception. Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Onam Editions Launched in India.
