‘No lapse on our part’: CISF on MPs scuffle in Parliament | India News

NEW DELHI: There was no lapse on its part during the Parliament scuffle between the MPs of BJP and Congress during the Winter Session that ended last week, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said on Monday.
Notably, the CISF is tasked to guard the Parliament House Complex.
CISF Deputy Inspector General (operations) Shrikant Kishore clarified to journalists at a conference that security protocols were maintained, stating “There was no lapse (on part of the force). No weapon was allowed…”

Regarding accusations between parliamentarians about who initiated physical contact, the DIG indicated that the force would maintain silence when “honourable members (MPs) make allegations…”
He further confirmed that the CISF was not conducting any investigation into the incident that occurred at the Makar Dwar of the Parliament House Complex.
Last week’s confrontation between the Parliamentarians resulted in injuries to BJP representatives Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput within Parliament premises.
After this, BJP filed a FIR against Rae Bareli MP and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi. Congress also filed the complaint against BJP for hurting party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Later, the cases were sent to Crime Branch.
