New $6 Coles Donut Mind If I Do sparks shopping frenzy

A shopper has sparked a frenzy for a new grocery item after sharing the find on TikTok and declaring the fresh baked treat was “unreal”.

It’s safe to say we Aussies love our doughnuts.

Which is why some shoppers might be excited to find out that Coles has launched a new range of fancy flavoured doughnuts – and these definitely aren’t your average cinnamon offering.

The supermarket’s Donut Mind If I Do range has already gone viral thanks to a TikTok waxing lyrical about them.

“Guess what, Coles have a new doughnut range,” @sammy_dyer says in the video, which has been viewed more than 360,000 times.

“I grabbed two boxes because I just couldn’t help myself.”

He picked up two of the two pack varieties for $6 which had one cookies and cream and raspberry cheesecake doughnut in one packet, while the other two-pack variety came with a caramel crunch and choc caramel doughnut.

Sammy said the doughnuts were “pretty damn filled” with a “heavy” dough which he was a fan of, with his overall verdict that they were “delicious” and “unreal”.

The video got more than 400 comments, with many viewers saying they were “adding these to the eating list”.

“They look sick,” one person wrote.
“I know what I am getting for a cheat day,” another person commented.

But not everyone was a fan, with some doughnut connoisseurs claiming that “without the filling they are pretty dry”.

“Such a let down,” another shopper commented. “They had potential but no.”

The Donut Mind If I Do range launched in Coles earlier this month, with the supermarket’s category manager for bakery cakes Katie Storey telling news.com.au they had already proven “very popular” – particularly in one state.

“Donuts have grown in popularity particularly with millennials and Gen Z shoppers, so we wanted to develop a range of great quality, flavoursome doughnuts to inspire and emulate what customers are currently purchasing at independent doughnut retailers,” she said.

“Coles data shows our Victorian customers are eating more doughnuts compared to other states and territories.”

The Aussie-made doughnuts also come in Raspberry Iced Jam, Choc Iced Jam, Rocky Road and Fairy Bread flavours.
