VISAKHAPATNAM: Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday welcomed the RBI decision to scrap Rs 2000 notes.
“The decision to ban the Rs 2000 notes is certainly an excellent sign. I submitted a report on digital currency long ago and the scrapping of these notes will certainly check corruption. Politicians are trying to win polls by distributing money to the voters and Rs 2,000 notes are playing a major role in this. Now, this can be checked to a great extent,” Chandrababu Naidu said while addressing a huge gathering at Anakapalle as part of his ongoing ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki‘ program. He was on the final and third day of his tour to North Andhra region.
He further said that the prices of all commodities, gas fuel, and other items too are skyrocketing and if anyone raises voice against this, false cases are being foisted against such persons.
“I am happy that people are gathering in large numbers for my road shows. Leaders of opposition parties have every right to conduct road shows like this,” TDP president Chandrababu Naidu said.
Stating that he wanted to transform Visakhapatnam as an IT hub and tourism center besides promoting the city as financial capital after building Amaravati as the state capital, Naidu said that now Jagan is playing a game with these cities. “Jagan has more affection towards your assets but not towards you,” he remarked.
The chief minister made every effort to sell the lands in Amaravati and even in Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam, he said. Naidu further added that the atrocities of Jagan are on the rise now.
He promised to ensure that the youth get suitable jobs and said that the youth should prove to themselves that Andhra Pradesh is tops in having the younger generation. “I will take the responsibility to prove employment to you all,” he added. How can a leader who cannot provide employment to youth can call himself the chief minister, Naidu asked.
