Mumbai Shocker: Woman Raped, Forced Into Unnatural Sex on Pretext of Marriage by Man She Met on Social Media; Accused Arrested

Mumbai, December 15: The Mumbai police recently arrested a man for sexually assaulting, forcing unnatural intercourse and mentally torturing a 22-year-old girl since 2018. As per reports, the accused has been identified as Abdul Hamid Khan (31), a resident of Kurla’s Kapadia Nagar area. Police officials said that Khan befriended the girl on social media in 2018 and promised to marry her.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the accused raped the woman multiple times promising to marry her. He further added, “The victim then started pressurizing him to marry her. He married her in court but did not take her home.” In 2020, when the woman asked Khan to have a normal married life, he took her to to stay with him. The two stayed in the same room in Mankhurd where he had exploited her earlier.

However, Khan started torturing her physically and mentally and even forced her for unnatural sex. “The victim, in her statement, has also alleged that he tried to divorce her several times but she opposed him steadfastly. The incident came to light after the woman lodged a compliant against Khan earlier this month, post which Khan was arrested. The accused has been arrested for rape, forcing unnatural intercourse, cheating, causing hurt by means of poison, assault among other under the Indian Penal Code. Senior police inspector Mahadev Koli, Mankhurd police station said, “We are verifying the claims that the victim has made in her complaint.”
