Heavy rains in Mumbai have caused significant flight disruptions, with SpiceJet warning of potential delays and Vistara rerouting flights. Around 15 flights arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport were delayed. SpiceJet advised passengers to check flight statuses, citing weather conditions. Vistara’s Delhi-Mumbai and Hyderabad-Mumbai flights were diverted due to poor visibility, with one flight returning to Hyderabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red alert’ for Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Raigad, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, further complicating travel and transportation across the region.
