Mumbai Rains: 3 Out of 7 Lakes That Supply Water to City Overflowing, Water Stocks Surge by 8% to 66% in Past 24 Hours
Three out of seven lakes that supply water to Mumbai are currently overflowing following heavy rainfall this month. Mumbai receives water from seven lakes – Tulsi, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Upper Vaitarna and Middle Vaitarna. Of them, Vihar lake started overflowing on Thursday, July 25. Tansa Lake started overflowing on July 24, prompting authorities to open three gates of the Tansa dam. Earlier on July 20, Tulsi Lake had overflowed. Due to heavy rain in the past 24 hours, water levels in the seven lakes surged by 8% from 58% on July 24 to 66% on July 25. However, the ongoing 10% cut in water supply continues in the city. Vihar Lake Water Overflows on July 25

3 Gates of the Tansa Dam Have Been Opened As the Water Overflowed
Tansa Lake, one of the lake supplying water to the Mumbai, has started overflowing at around 4:16 PM today. Three gates of the Tansa Dam have been opened, releasing water at a rate of 3,315 cusecs.
