One of the greats of India’s music scene, singer Mukesh passed away on August 27, 1976 in Detroit, Michigan. He had gone for a concert and complained of chest pain after coming out of the shower. They rushed him to the hospital but he succumbed to a heart attack. In his career, he was known as the voice of Raj Kapoor. Mukesh who idolized K.L Saigal would imitate him to perfection. Sunil Dutt, Nutan and Jamuna’s Milan released in 1967. Till date, the movie is known for the song, “Sawan Ka Mahina” filmed on the beautiful Godavari River.
