Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Barwani team won the mixed-gender tournament Samaveshi Cup 2025. The team batted first and set a huge target of 58 runs. In reply, Salyakhedi team could score only 35 runs. The two-day tournament started with the quarter-final and semi-final matches in Harda on Monday.
Semi-final matches were held between Salyakhedi and Khedipura and Nimcha and Barwani. Salyakhedi team made it to the final by scoring 71 runs. Barwani team entered the final by scoring 67 runs.
Quarter-final matches were played between Barwani and Gadamod, Nimacha and Khodebode, Salyakhedi and Joga and Khedipura and Gomgaon. The winning team (Barwani) received prize of Rs 31,000 and a trophy whereas as runner-up (Salyakhedi) got Rs 21,000.
Nimacha and Khedipura teams who secured third and fourth position in the tournament got Rs 11,000 and 5,100 respectively. The commentators of the match were Shravan Joshi Sivam whereas the scorer and the umpires were Sanjay Sharma, Pappu Pawar and Ravi Rajput. Former agriculture minister Kamal Patel was the chief guest.
“Sports are not only a means of competition, but it also developes discipline, health, teamwork and self-confidence in youth,” he said. The tournament was launched by Synergy Sansthan in Harda district five years ago to promote inclusiveness, gender equality and social change. The initiative has been expanded in three more districts – Barwani, Khandwa and Guna this year.
